What the job is

This is a Group Head position at ninety9cents, a company based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves leading a team in creating and managing advertising layouts for clients, ensuring high-quality and accurate designs.

What you will do

You will create layouts using approved templates, product data, and imagery from the company’s workflow tools. You will ensure all layouts follow strict formatting rules, including sizes, fonts, colors, and brand guidelines. You will use Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, to produce advertising materials. You will manage workflows, review team work, and provide feedback. You will also conduct interviews and training for new staff, update production documents, and escalate performance issues when needed. Additionally, you will meet deadlines, check product details and pricing for accuracy, and maintain consistent visual layouts.

What you need

You need a Diploma in Desktop Publishing or Art Direction, with at least 2 years of experience as a DTP artist or team lead in an advertising agency or digital environment. You must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and MacOS, with Figma knowledge being a plus. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and organizational skills are required. You should be reliable, able to work under pressure, and comfortable working extra hours or weekends when necessary. Experience in retail business is an advantage.
