What the job is

This is a Retail Shop Assistant position at Adendorff Machinery Mart, a company that sells tools and machinery. The job is based in Rustenburg, North West. You will work in a retail shop, helping customers find the right tools and machinery for their needs.

What you will do

You will provide excellent customer service by answering questions and helping customers choose the best tools and machinery. You will keep your product knowledge up to date so you can explain features and benefits clearly. You will manage inventory, making sure shelves are stocked, organized, and look appealing. You will process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system. You will help set up promotions and displays to attract customers and boost sales. You will work with your team to ensure smooth shop operations, including stocktaking and replenishment. You will follow all health and safety rules to keep the shop safe for everyone.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate or an equivalent qualification. You should have experience in retail or customer service, preferably in tools and machinery. You need strong communication and people skills, with a friendly attitude. You should have basic math skills for handling transactions and counting stock. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail. Experience with inventory management and stock control is required. Technical knowledge in DIY tools or hardware is a plus.

What you will get

The salary is negotiable and comes with benefits. You will work Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:00. This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities for growth in a well-established company.
