What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Data Operations Specialist at Smollan Technologies, based in Cape Town. The company builds advanced technology solutions that turn raw data into useful insights for businesses. They use modern cloud-based systems and AI to manage and process large amounts of data efficiently.

What you will do

You will manage and set up custom data workflows and integrations, working closely with data providers, distributors, and clients. You will process large volumes of data using specialized platforms to meet strict deadlines. You will troubleshoot and fix complex data processing issues on your own before involving others. You will work with teams like Client Success, Data Engineers, and Data Visualization to turn operational needs into scalable systems. You will also suggest and implement improvements to make data management processes more efficient. Additionally, you will train and mentor junior analysts on data management standards and tools.

What you need

You need at least 2 years of experience in technical data operations, data processing, or data analytics. A relevant degree, diploma, or certification in Information Technology, Commerce, or a related field is required. You must be highly skilled in SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or Pyramid, as well as advanced Excel, and have a strong understanding of data warehousing. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential, as you will work with both internal teams and external stakeholders. You should also be able to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
