What the job is

This is a Bartender position at Royal Bafokeng Administration, located in Rustenburg. The company is looking for someone to work in their hospitality team, serving guests in a bar, restaurant, or hotel setting.

What you will do

You will greet guests and show them to their tables. You will take customer orders carefully, making sure you understand what they want. You will suggest drinks or food based on their preferences. You will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests. You will serve snacks along with drinks and help the restaurant team when needed. You will communicate orders to the kitchen staff and serve food and drinks to customers. You will check that glasses and bar tools are clean and report any issues. You will handle payments, balance cash, and record sales. You will follow food hygiene and safety rules when making drinks. You will restock the bar, do daily stock checks, and work with the supply team to order more inventory.

What you need

You must have a qualification after Matric, such as a Higher Certificate in Food or Beverage. You need at least 2 years of experience as a Bartender or in a similar role in a restaurant or hotel. You should know how to use a cash register and ordering systems. You must understand standard hospitality procedures, food safety laws, and how to make traditional and creative cocktails. You should have good knowledge of flavor pairings and be skilled in using MS Office, especially Word. Strong communication and people skills are also required.
