What the job is

This is a Security Officer position at CBRE Excellerate, a company that provides security services. The job is based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, safety, and smooth operation of the site you are assigned to. This role involves working closely with clients, staff, and the public to maintain high standards of service and professionalism.

What you will do

You will enforce company policies and security procedures to keep the site safe. Your duties include monitoring security risks, responding to incidents, and handling complaints from staff or clients. You will also communicate with management and the public about security matters, keep accurate records, and ensure all security operations follow industry rules. Additionally, you will provide leadership to security personnel and maintain professional relationships with clients.

What you need

You must have a PSIRA Grade A certification, a Matric or Grade 12 certificate, a valid driver’s license (Code 08), and a valid handgun firearm competency. You need at least 5 years of experience in the security industry, with 3 to 5 years of experience dealing directly with clients on security issues. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to stay calm under pressure. You must also be physically fit and maintain a professional appearance.
