What the job is

This is a permanent job for an Insurance Accountant at Dotsure, a company based in George, Western Cape. The role is part of the finance team and focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance for the insurance business. You will work closely with the Financial Manager and other teams to provide reliable financial information that supports decision-making.

What you will do

You will prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and financial reports to ensure accuracy. You will produce management accounts and financial statements that comply with IFRS standards. You will assist with audits, regulatory reporting, and calculations for VAT and income tax. You will also manage financial reporting related to partners and look for ways to improve financial processes and controls. Collaboration with finance and operational teams will be a key part of your role.

What you need

You must have a BCom Accounting degree or equivalent qualification and have completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles. Experience in financial accounting, month-end reporting, and preparing reconciliations and financial reports is required. You should have a good understanding of VAT, income tax, and IFRS, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP or accounting systems is also necessary. Bonus points if you have 2-5 years of post-articles experience, exposure to the insurance or financial services industry, budgeting and forecasting experience, or familiarity with Acumatica ERP.
