What the job is

This is a full-time Business Analyst position at Pepkor Payments & Lending, based in Cape Town. The company is part of the banking and finance industry, and the role involves working closely with developers, testers, and business teams to understand and document business needs.

What you will do

You will gather and document business requirements to create clear Business Requirement Documents (BRDs). You will plan and monitor business analysis tasks, track progress throughout the software development lifecycle, and estimate the effort needed for each task. You will meet with stakeholders to collect and validate requirements, ensuring they align with business goals. You will also prioritize requirements, model processes using diagrams or matrices, and define risks, assumptions, and constraints. Additionally, you will assess proposed solutions, assist with testing, and ensure the organization is ready to use the new systems. You may also mentor junior analysts and provide business support to internal and external stakeholders.

What you need

You need a 3-year tertiary qualification in a technical or analytical field, along with a Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent. You must have 3-4 years of experience in a formal business analysis role, preferably in the financial services industry. Strong skills in business analysis tools, methodologies, and process modeling are required. Experience with SQL, agile or scrum development, and communication technologies like telephony or WhatsApp integration is a plus. You should be a team player with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
