What the job is

This is a contract role for a Power BI Developer or Consultant at iOCO, a technology company based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The position involves working with The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited to create data solutions that help businesses make better decisions.

What you will do

You will design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI. You will gather business needs and turn them into effective data solutions. You will create and optimize data models using Power BI and Power Query, and write DAX calculations for key metrics. You will connect Power BI to various data sources like SQL databases, Excel, APIs, and cloud platforms. You will clean, transform, and model data to ensure accuracy and usability. You will also set up security controls, collaborate with data teams and business stakeholders, and provide support for Power BI solutions.

What you need

You must have strong experience with Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query. You should understand data modeling and have good SQL skills. Experience with relational databases and multiple data sources is required. Knowledge of ETL processes and strong problem-solving skills are important. You should be able to communicate with stakeholders and turn their needs into technical solutions. Experience with Power BI Service, workspaces, and scheduled refreshes is also needed.
