What the job is

This is a permanent position for a Senior Advisor in Integrated Risk Management at Eskom, a major company in the electricity, energy, and water supply industry. The job is based in Simmerpan, Germiston, Gauteng, and focuses on developing and managing risk strategies to support the business. You will work in the Market Operator department, specifically within the Energy Market Services unit.

What you will do

You will develop, implement, and maintain Integrated Risk Management strategies, plans, and controls for the business area. You will continuously improve the risk management process and practices. You will also provide risk management education, training, and communication to the team. Additionally, you will be responsible for functional risk accountability and ensuring that integrated risk management is applied effectively.

What you need

You must have a Bachelor’s Degree, BTech, or Advanced Diploma in Risk Management, Engineering, Commerce, or Finance (NQF Level 7 with 360 credits). You need at least 5 years of experience in risk management or financial risk management. Strong skills in computer programs like Word, Excel, and CURA are required, along with analytical thinking, facilitation, report writing, and communication skills. Knowledge of risk management legislation, principles, and systems is essential.
