What the job is

This is a Sales Assistant position at PEP, a well-known retail company. The job is based in Pretoria, Gauteng, and is a permanent role. You will be part of a team working in a fast-paced retail store, helping to achieve business goals by providing great customer service and managing store operations.

What you will do

You will help increase sales by providing excellent customer service and maintaining high store standards. This includes keeping the store clean and well-organized, displaying products attractively, managing stock, and ensuring correct pricing. You will also work to reduce stock losses by following security measures and proper stock and cash handling procedures. Additionally, you will operate the cash register, handle money according to company policies, and contribute to a cost-effective store environment. You will also maintain health, safety, and cleanliness standards in the store.

What you need

To apply, you must have completed Grade 12 (Matric) and be proficient in English. It would be beneficial if you have 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment. You should also be comfortable using computers. Personal qualities are important too: you need a passion for retail, honesty, a willingness to work hard, and the ability to plan and organize your daily tasks. You must be able to work under pressure in a busy environment and be willing to work retail hours, which may include weekends and evenings.
