What the job is

This is a Senior Technologist Engineer position at Eskom, a leading electricity and energy company in South Africa. The role is based in Ingula, KwaZulu-Natal, and focuses on developing and supporting technology strategies, processes, standards, and designs for power generation. You will work in the Generators Engineering department within the Peaking Generation business unit.

What you will do

You will provide technical consulting and investigation services for engineering projects. You will create and integrate engineering solutions or designs for asset creation. You will develop and approve technical standards, procedures, and specifications for your discipline. You will contribute to technology vision and strategy, conduct research, and participate in national and international technical forums. You will also provide professional technical leadership to teams.

What you need

You must have a B Tech, National Higher Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 360 credits at NQF7. You need at least 4 years of experience in technical engineering and related technologies, including engineering planning, design, and management for power stations or electrical networks. You must be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Technologist. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
