What the job is

This is an internship position for a Learner Technician specializing in Process Instrumentation at Eskom, a major electricity and energy company in South Africa. The role is based at Majuba Power Station in Mpumalanga. It is part of a learning program designed to provide hands-on training and experience in the field of process instrumentation within the energy sector.

What you will do

You will receive structured institutional training combined with on-the-job training to develop your skills in process instrumentation. You will work as part of a team, applying technical knowledge and following Eskom’s policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include learning how to maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation systems used in power generation. You will also develop communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills while working in a professional environment.

What you need

To qualify, you must have completed an S4 or S5 qualification in Process Instrumentation. You must be a South African citizen. Strong leadership qualities, integrity, professionalism, and a customer-focused attitude are essential. Good communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and liaison skills are required. You should be a team player, energetic, and a self-starter with a polite and assertive demeanor.
