What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Silo Manager at OOS VRYSTAAT KAAP BEDRYF BPK / OPERATIONS LTD, based in Ladybrand, Free State. The main goal of this role is to effectively manage the silo operations to ensure the business remains profitable. You will be working in the grain and agriculture industry, overseeing daily activities and staff at the silo.

What you will do

You will manage the silo according to the set budget to ensure financial targets are met. You will be responsible for supervising and managing staff to ensure smooth operations. You will also handle customer service to maintain good relationships with clients. Additionally, you will ensure sound financial management and practices within the department. Managing all administrative functions related to the silo will also be part of your duties.

What you need

To qualify for this role, you must have a Grade 12 certificate. You need at least 4 years of experience working in grain or silo operations as a Silo Manager. You must have completed fumigation and grain grading courses. Previous experience in supervising or managing staff is required. A valid driver’s license is also necessary. Strong communication skills in both Afrikaans and English, computer literacy, and good administrative and organizational abilities are essential. Experience in managing budgets and costs, as well as strong leadership and interpersonal skills, will be beneficial.
