What the job is

This is an apprenticeship position for a Learner Artisan specializing in Mechanical work at Eskom, a major electricity and energy company. The job is based at Koeberg Power Station in Cape Town, Western Cape. It is part of Eskom’s training program to develop skilled artisans in the mechanical field.

What you will do

You will receive structured training both in a classroom setting and on the job. This training will help you develop the skills needed to work as a mechanical artisan. You will also be expected to demonstrate teamwork, integrity, and professionalism in all tasks. Additionally, you will need to communicate effectively, solve problems, and work well with others in a customer-focused environment.

What you need

To qualify, you must be a South African citizen. You need one of the following: a National N6 Certificate with Mechanical trade subjects, a National N4 or N5 Certificate with trade subjects, a Grade 12 certificate with at least 50% in Pure Maths and Physical Science and 40% in English, an N3 certificate with 50% in Pure Maths and Science and 40% in English, or an NCV Level 4 with 50% in Pure Maths and Science and 40% in English. Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are also required.
