What the job is
This is an apprenticeship position for a Learner Technician specializing in Instrumentation at Eskom, a major electricity and energy company in South Africa. The job is based at Koeberg Power Station in Cape Town, Western Cape. It is part of a training program designed to provide hands-on experience and institutional learning in the field of instrumentation.
What you will do
You will receive structured training both in a classroom setting and on the job. This includes learning how to work with measurement, control, and instrumentation systems. You will also be expected to follow Eskom’s policies and procedures while developing skills in communication, teamwork, and customer service. The role requires you to be a team player, professional, and focused on delivering high-quality work.
What you need
To qualify, you must be a South African citizen and have completed an S4, S5, or Diploma in Measurement, Control, and Instrumentation. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively. Personal attributes such as integrity, professionalism, politeness, and being a self-starter are important. Preference may be given to candidates from under-represented groups as part of Eskom’s employment equity goals.
