What the job is

This is a Store Manager position at PEP, a well-known retail company. The job is based in Durban Central, KwaZulu-Natal. As the Store Manager, you will lead the store team to meet business goals, including increasing sales, controlling costs, reducing risks, and maintaining high store standards.

What you will do

You will increase sales by providing excellent customer service and keeping the store in top condition. You will manage stock and promotions to attract customers. You will minimize stock loss by following security measures and proper stock and cash handling procedures. You will control costs by running the store efficiently according to the company’s low-cost culture. You will handle administrative tasks as per company guidelines. You will lead, train, and coach a team of staff to ensure high performance. You will also maintain health, safety, and cleanliness standards in the store.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 certificate and be proficient in English. A degree or diploma in business or retail is an advantage. You should have 1-2 years of experience in a retail leadership role. Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office or Google GSuite, are beneficial. You need a passion for retail, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You must be willing to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays.
