What the job is

This is a full-time position for an Area Marketer at Smollan, a company based in the Western Cape. The role is permanent and focuses on managing sales and product displays in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.

What you will do

You will manage sales activities to ensure products sell well in stores. You will also be responsible for maintaining shelf health, which means making sure products are properly stocked, displayed, and easy for customers to find. Additionally, you will execute point-of-purchase strategies, such as setting up promotions and displays to attract customers. Administrative tasks, like reporting and record-keeping, will also be part of your role. Finally, you will provide excellent customer service to ensure shoppers and store staff are satisfied.

What you need

You must have 2 to 3 years of experience working in the FMCG industry. A valid Code 8 driver’s license is required. You should have a Diploma or an NQF level 5 qualification. Strong skills in sales management, shelf management, and administration are essential. Good customer service, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills are also important. Attention to detail is a must for this role.
