This is a permanent position for an EVA Shoe Injection Moulding Supervisor or Technician at Kontak Recruitment in Industria, Johannesburg. The role involves hands-on work with EVA shoe-sole injection moulding machines, including operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining them while also supervising a production team.

What you will do

You will start, operate, and shut down EVA injection moulding machines safely and efficiently. You will set and adjust machine parameters such as injection pressure, timing, temperatures, and hydraulic pressure to ensure consistent production. You will monitor production cycles for signs of machine failure, such as abnormal noises, leaks, or pressure changes, and diagnose faults in hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and temperature-control systems. You will perform first-line repairs and maintenance, including checking oil levels, lubrication, hoses, and electrical connections. You will also supervise and train production staff, allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure quality control by inspecting finished products for defects. Additionally, you will enforce safety rules, keep accurate records, and report any accidents or production issues to management.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 or Matric certificate, and a qualification in mechanical, electrical, fitting, or millwright fields would be beneficial. You need at least 3 to 5 years of practical experience with injection moulding machinery, preferably with EVA footwear or sole production, Chinese EVA machines, and mould changes. You must be able to diagnose machine faults and perform repairs on hydraulic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems, including pumps, valves, sensors, and wiring. Experience in supervising production teams, setting machine parameters, and maintaining safety and quality standards is essential. You should also be able to read technical manuals and follow safety procedures.

What you will get

The salary for this permanent position is between R30,000 and R35,000 per month, depending on your experience and technical ability. This is a full-time, on-site role in Johannesburg with opportunities to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
