What the job is

Eskom is hiring a Principal Technical Official in Harrismith, Free State. This role is part of the Maintenance & Operations department and focuses on ensuring a reliable electricity supply for customers. The job involves working on electrical networks up to 132 Kilovolts (kV) in the Maluti-a-Phofung area.

What you will do

You will plan, operate, maintain, repair, and build electrical networks to ensure continuous power supply. Your tasks include performing maintenance, fixing faults, constructing network assets, providing training to team members, ensuring health and safety compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.

What you need

You must have a Senior Artisan Trade Certificate (Dry Trade) at NQF4 with 120 credits. At least 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining distribution networks is required. You should also have knowledge of Eskom standards, high and low voltage systems, safety regulations, and specialized equipment like cranes and drills. A valid driver’s license (EC) and Public Driver’s Permit (PDP) are essential. Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills are important.
