What the job is

ACDC Dynamics South Africa is a well-known company that makes, imports, and sells high-quality electrical, electronic, pump, and tool products. They are looking for an experienced and energetic Procurement Supervisor to join their team in Longmeadow, Gauteng. This role is important for managing the company’s purchasing needs to support its operations efficiently and at a low cost.

What you will do

You will manage and lead a team of local and international buyers to ensure all purchasing activities meet company standards. Your responsibilities include creating and implementing purchasing policies, checking that suppliers follow contracts and quality standards, and finding new suppliers who offer good prices and reliable service. You will also negotiate and manage contracts, solve problems related to cost, quality, and delivery, and work with other departments to handle inventory needs. Additionally, you will develop budgets, reduce purchasing costs, and improve procurement processes to help the company grow.

What you need

You must have at least 10 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, with a minimum of 5 years in a management or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of procurement laws, contracts, customs, tariffs, shipping, and VAT is required. You should be skilled in using purchasing and supply chain systems, as well as MS Office applications. Good negotiation, communication, and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to analyze data, make sound decisions, and work well with numbers. Experience in LEAN principles, MRP/ERP systems, and financial acumen is also important.
