What the job is

This is a full-time position for an ICT Support Officer at iLembe District Municipality, located in the iLembe district of KwaZulu-Natal. The role is part of the local government sector and involves providing technical support for the municipality’s IT systems.

What you will do

You will diagnose and fix problems related to computer hardware and software. You will maintain and monitor the performance of hardware and operating systems to ensure they work properly. You will coordinate system changes within the municipality to keep IT operations running smoothly. You will also provide user support and training to help staff use IT equipment effectively. Additionally, you will perform backup and restore procedures for the operating system and prepare monthly reports for your supervisor. You may also be asked to carry out other tasks as directed by a senior official.

What you need

To apply, you must have a valid Grade 12 certificate and a National Diploma in Information Technology. Having a Microsoft Certified Solutions Administrator (MCSA) certification will be an advantage. You need at least 2 to 5 years of experience in providing IT support for hardware, software, and related devices. A valid driver’s license is also required.
