What the job is

This is a Data Analyst position at iOCO, a technology company based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves working with the Data team to help the business make better decisions by turning data into useful insights. The job is a 12-month contract and can also be based in Johannesburg.

What you will do

You will analyze large and complex datasets to find trends and patterns that provide business insights. You will gather and interpret business requirements and turn them into data and reporting needs. You will develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions. You will extract, clean, transform, and validate data from multiple sources. You will work closely with business and technical teams to understand their needs and deliver accurate insights. You will present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will support decision-making through data-driven analysis and perform ad hoc analysis as needed. You will also document reporting requirements, data definitions, and analytical processes.

What you need

You need proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, with strong SQL skills and experience analyzing large datasets. You should have strong experience with reporting and visualization tools, as well as developing dashboards and management reports. A good understanding of data modeling and relational database concepts is required. You must have strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. A relevant degree or diploma in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is required. Experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake would be advantageous.
