What the job is

This is a cashier position at Pedros, a well-known restaurant brand. The job is based in Paarl, Cape Town, in the Western Cape. It is a permanent role, and you will be part of a new store opening, helping to build a strong team and store culture from the start.

What you will do

You will process customer orders and payments accurately using the POS system. You will handle cash, card, and digital payments and issue receipts. You will also manage refunds or exchanges when needed. Promoting specials and upselling products will be part of your role. You will manage customer queues, resolve basic customer queries, and keep the counter area clean and organized. Balancing cash and submitting end-of-shift reports will also be required. Additionally, you will help protect company assets and prevent losses.

What you need

Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required, as this is an entry-level position. You must have strong numeracy skills and a professional appearance. Key skills include numerical accuracy, customer service, communication, integrity, attention to detail, stress tolerance, sales orientation, and problem-solving ability.
