What the job is

This is a Plumber position at Empact Group, a company that provides facilities management services. The job is based in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, and involves working on plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings. You will be part of a team that ensures plumbing systems are well-maintained, safe, and working properly.

What you will do

You will install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, water supply lines, drainage, and fixtures like taps and toilets. You will diagnose plumbing problems and fix them quickly and effectively. You will perform routine checks and preventative maintenance to stop small issues from becoming big problems. You will respond to emergency call-outs for plumbing issues outside of normal working hours when needed. You will keep records of all work done, materials used, and any outstanding maintenance needs. You will also ensure that all work follows plumbing regulations, health and safety rules, and building standards.

What you need

You must have a recognized plumbing trade qualification or certificate, and a Red Seal or equivalent qualification will be an advantage. You need proven experience in plumbing maintenance for residential, commercial, or property settings. You should have strong practical knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and materials. A valid driver’s license is required, and having your own reliable transport will be beneficial. You must be able to work independently with little supervision, communicate well with clients and team members, and manage your time effectively.
