What the job is

This is a job for a Food Prep Assistant at Pedros, a restaurant opening a new branch in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. You will be part of a team helping to launch this exciting new location. This is a permanent position where you can grow your skills and be part of building a strong store culture from the start.

What you will do

You will prepare ingredients by cutting, marinating, portioning, and weighing them. You will follow standard recipes and preparation procedures to ensure food is made correctly. You will store and label food items properly and keep the preparation areas and equipment clean. You will check stock levels and report any shortages. You will also help grillers and cooks when needed, perform daily cleaning tasks, support waste reduction efforts, and follow all food safety rules.

What you need

You should have basic kitchen experience, though it is not required. You must understand hygiene standards and be able to follow instructions carefully. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team are important. You should also have physical stamina to handle long hours and manual tasks.
