Job description
Job objectives 
● To effectively develop and achieve replenishment plans based on establishing and maintaining business rules for lead times, safety stock, network, etc. and setting all replenishment parameters
● To effectively manage and monitor budgets, receipt and inventory flow
● To effectively validate monthly forecast and manage open to buy budget
● To achieve Infill and DC Availability metrics
● To work with vendors and the DC on capacity planning in order to manage cost to serve
● To provide forward visibility into all replenishment and ordering requirements both DC and store to minimize stock-outs and/or inventory overruns
● To drive maintaining the distribution network, safety stock levels, and improving customer service by making the product available to meet the demands throughout the distribution network
● To review and act on out of stocks, anticipated out of stocks and low stocks Clicks Group
● To work with the Demand Planner to create a match between supply and demand
● To review causal data and determine reasons for inventory overages, underage’s, excess, and aged stock and resolve with relevant stakeholder
● To review promotional activities while in-flight to determine opportunities
● To review and approve purchase orders and place manual purchase orders as necessary
● To ensure sufficient knowledge of all inventory locations and be able to source products from alternate locations to meet demand (deployment)
● To ensure continuous supplier reviews based on on-time and in full and engage to ensure corrective measures are taken
● To collaborate with buyers, demand planners, suppliers, stores, warehousing, and transportation on inventory flow opportunities to drive cost savings and improved stock efficiency
● To ensure effective people management and development

Minimum requirements

Job related knowledge
Essential
●Industry insight related to supply chain management, inventory management and vendor relationship management.
● FMCG, Supply Chain and Logistics
● Commercial acumen – external focus
● Working knowledge and ability to adjust and manage distribution networks, safety stock levels, replenishment parameters and customer service level needs.
● Requires knowledge on S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) and consensus processes.
 Desirable:
● Understanding of customer needs and wants, trends, competitive environment and market share
● Deep understanding of the consistent management and planning of the supplier base performance metrics, promotional planning cycle, product lifecycle, supply chain optimization for their products, business analysis and reporting
● Financial planning models and methodologies
Job related skills
Essential:
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to build relationships and drive consensus and collaboration across functional groups
● Forecasting consumer trends and buying habits 9 – 24 months in the future
● Presentation skills with focus being on oral and written communication skills
● Proficiency on MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
● Problem solving
● Strong negotiating and influencing skills
● Analytics required to enable above
Desirable
● Merchant math capability (variance to last year, percent of total, turn, Open-to-Buy etc.)
● business and financial analysis skills and knowledge to solve business problems and influence decision making
● Business math acumen and analysis to comprehend financial information and reporting to make business decisions
Job experience
Essential:
● 3 – 5 years re-buying experience and/or inventory analysis
● Experience with retail buying or supply chain
Desirable:
● Experience with Demand Planning or Supply Planning software preferred
● Experience in managing and leading teams preferred
Education
● Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Math, Logistics, Supply Chain
