Are you ready to take on an exciting challenge? As a Risk Management Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks across various business functions. You’ll stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks, implementing the cutting-edge Risk Management Framework (ERM) with thorough risk assessments to quantify and qualify potential impacts. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a culture of risk awareness and prioritizing risks to drive the organization forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Mitigation and Control: Be the strategist behind effective risk mitigation. Develop and implement powerful control measures, collaborate with departments to ensure robust risk controls, and keep our risk mitigation plans sharp and up-to-date.
  • Risk Reporting: Prepare and present compelling risk reports to senior management. Turn complex risk information into clear, actionable insights and highlight key metrics and trends.
  • Incident Response and Crisis Management: Develop a rock-solid incident response plan. Coordinate swift responses to incidents and crises, and conduct post-incident reviews to continuously improve.
  • Training and Awareness: Lead engaging training programs that boost risk awareness. Educate employees on best practices and inspire a proactive risk management mindset.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously review and enhance risk management processes based on valuable feedback. Seek innovative ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness, staying informed about the latest tools and methodologies.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Seamlessly integrate risk management into business processes. Foster open communication channels for reporting risks and work closely with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Scenario Analysis: Conduct in-depth scenario analyses to assess various risk impacts. Develop contingency plans and provide valuable insights into potential outcomes.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage cutting-edge risk management tools and technologies. Stay ahead with advancements in risk analytics software and ensure data security.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with solvency and liquidity management.
  • Perform daily and monthly commission calculations.
  • Handle quarterly and annual returns, including submissions.
  • Analyze the insurance portfolio to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Preferred: B. Com (Mathematical Sciences) with a focus on Financial Risk Management/B. Com Risk Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Risk Management within the Financial Services industry.

Probation Period:

  • Successful candidates will work for a probation period of 6 months.
