Finance Manager -Insurance Industry (Fixed Term Contract)
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations
– Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, including financial modeling and analysis
– Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
– Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
– Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial goals are aligned with business objectives
– Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders
– Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support as needed
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, CA(SA)
– At least 5 years of experience in finance within the insurance industry
– 2-3 years IFRS17 experience
– Strong knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and financial reporting requirements
– Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive growth and profitability
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
– Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
– Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
