Group Commercial Manager
Job Description
Hire Resolve’s client, a leading mining group with a strong presence in the industry, is currently seeking a Group Commercial Manager to join their team in Gauteng. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing supplier-facing documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies, and driving commercial excellence across the group.
Responsibilities:

Oversee and review supplier-facing documents, ensuring they meet industry benchmarks and company policies.

Align procurement projects with operational needs and global bundling processes.

Ensure all supplier documents comply with local and global policies, mitigating risks and maintaining high-quality standards.

Approve supplier documents in line with internal requirements before submission.

Conduct audits in line with Commercial Department audit requirements.

Ensure timely registration of contracts in the Contract Management System.

Manage a global supplier portfolio, handling all commercial matters, including price escalation notifications and negotiations.

Train end users on compliance requirements, risks of non-compliance, and system protocols.

Oversee trade compliance requirements for South Africa.

Ensure adherence to governance processes in supplier agreements, including policy, procedure, approval, and risk mitigation.

Develop and launch group-related tender documents and adjudications in collaboration with stakeholders.

Identify group opportunities to initiate tenders, manage rebate contracts, and oversee Tender Committee meeting documentation.
Requirements:

Education: Degree in B.Com Law/LLB Law or B.Com Procurement/Supply Chain.

Experience: At least 5 years in the mining industry and 10 years in Commercial, Legal, or Procurement roles.

Strong knowledge of commercial principles, contract management, risk assessment, and negotiation strategies.

Hands-on experience with procurement tenders and contracts.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel as required.
