Job Description


Hire Resolve is seeking an Accounting Clerk on behalf of our client, a specialist investment bank and investment manager operating across the African continent. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional to gain valuable experience across multiple financial functions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in bookkeeping, administrative support, and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general bookkeeping and accounting tasks for local and foreign entities, including journal posting, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare schedules (e.g., accruals, cross charges) for monthly management accounts.
  • Process invoice payments and manage creditors’ age analysis.
  • Review and ensure accurate allocation of supplier invoices.
  • Manage travel advances, travel expenses, and directors’ expenses.
  • Raise invoices per engagement letters and prepare debtors’ age analysis.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules, including depreciation, acquisitions, and disposals.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and yearly budgets.
  • Support the year-end audit process.
  • Assist with weekly cash flow forecasting.
  • Post payroll journal entries and perform reconciliations.
  • Conduct EMP501 reconciliations and submissions.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Specialist.
  • Assist HR with payroll processing and payment reconciliations.
  • Support the Legal team in maintaining records, filings, and important documents.
  • Maintain engagement letters and company filings.
  • Submit VAT201 returns.
  • Submit EMP201 and EMP501 returns.
  • Maintain the company’s share register/schedule.
  • Ensure CIPC registration compliance.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • NDip/Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll administration, payments, and general ledger management.
  • In-depth knowledge of statutory requirements, including PAYE, UIF, SDL, and COIDA.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SageOne Accounting or Xero.
