Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor (1-5 years experience)

Location: Stellenbosch, South Africa (Office-based)

Job Type: Full-Time, Immediate Start


Company Overview:

Our client is a well-established contractor within the construction industry, seeking a driven Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team based in our Stellenbosch office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for construction and looking to build on their skills in the quantity surveying field.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of project budgets, cost estimations, and forecasts.
  • Help prepare tender documentation, including Bill of Quantities (BoQ).
  • Monitor and manage project costs and expenditures to ensure financial control.
  • Assist in valuing completed work and preparing interim payment applications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to review costs, budgets, and timelines.
  • Participate in site visits to assess the progress and quality of work, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of final accounts, including cost reconciliation.
  • Support senior quantity surveyors with contract administration and negotiation tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, change orders, and any amendments.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent).
  • 1-5 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry (preferably with a contractor).
  • Solid understanding of construction cost control, measurement, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and familiarity with quantity surveying software (e.g., Procore, CostX).
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be immediately available and based in or willing to relocate to Stellenbosch.
  • Own transport is preferred.
