Quality Manager
Job Description
The Quality Manager will oversee and maintain the Business Management System, ensuring compliance with national and international quality, environmental, and safety standards, including ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and VDA 6.3.
This role reports to the General Manager and encompasses managing quality inspections for incoming, in-process, and finished products and conducting audits, statistical analyses, and process capability reviews.
- You should possess a relevant manufacturing or engineering degree or equivalent qualifications (BTech/NQF Level 5).
- At least 5 years of quality experience in the automotive industry.
- A thorough understanding of quality and environmental standards.
- Experience with internal and external audits
- Ability to ensure all quality tools, instruments, equipment & gauges are calibrated and compliant. (Manage Test Room)
- Computer proficiency (MS Office and Google Suite) is essential.
- Preferred certifications include quality control qualifications and training in core automotive tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are critical, alongside an aptitude for problem-solving, decision-making, and statistical data analysis.
The role requires meticulous attention to detail, organisational expertise, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams toward quality objectives while fostering continuous improvement.
You will also be required to manage departmental budgets, supervise staff, and take decisive corrective action to address non-conformances and uphold the organisation’s commitment to excellence.
