Mechanical Engineer – Mining

Responsibilities:

• Oversee maintenance work on mechanical equipment, ensuring quality, budget adherence, and deadlines.
• Design and implement mechanical solutions to enhance performance and reduce downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment like crushers, kilns, and conveyors.
• Work with teams to improve production processes and safety standards.
• Create and execute preventative maintenance plans to reduce failures.
• Offer technical support and training to staff.
• Develop methods, define procedures, and ensure their implementation.
• Optimize maintenance operations to maximize equipment availability.
• Schedule daily tasks and allocate necessary resources effectively.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the cement industry or relevant field.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and motor circuits
• Knowledge of gearboxes, transmissions, welding techniques, lubrication, non–destructive tests and general mechanics.
• Valid Driver’s License
