Job Description


Main purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the main purpose of the role is to develop and maintain client relationships by providing professional and excellent service to customers and potential customers at all times through all digital channels, and ensure adherence to agreed standards through constant communication with customers and potential customers as well as internally within the division. In addition, the role is key in the acquisition of new customers and the retention of existing customers. The position could be based in Cape Town or in Johannesburg (Randburg office).

Key responsibilities:

  • Liaising closely with the editorial team
  • Ownership of the calendar and running of content campaigns across different platforms
  • Planning, creating and optimising content & campaigns that will be used to drive subscriber acquisition and loyalty.
  • Brainstorming marketing campaigns
  • Segmenting audiences and targeting them with context-specific campaigns and messaging
  • Giving input into creative copy and design for display campaigns
  • Keeping a forward-looking view of the upcoming campaigns and create emails, content and blurbs that will be used across all marketing channels.
  • UX and UI screens
  • Reporting on campaign performance and optimising for improvement
  • Understanding and mastering the voice of the brand in communication

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Journalism or Languages 
  • Sound knowledge of CRM principles and tools;
  • Proficiency in relevant software packages and applications; Braze experience is highly advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license
