Fire Protection Draughtsman
Job Description
Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking to hire a Fire Protection Draughtsman to join their team in Cape Town. It is a leading organization in the South African fire protection industry, known for its comprehensive range of services including Fire Detection, Fire Equipment, Fire CO2 Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems, and Passive Fire solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Drafting: Prepare designs for fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with tender requirements.
- Hydraulic Calculations: Perform calculations to determine pipe sizing for fire sprinkler systems.
- Site Assessments: Conduct flow tests, site surveys, and measures as required.
- Documentation and Records:
- Produce and ensure approval of drawings within specified deadlines.
- Prepare fabrication lists with detailed stock and pricing information.
- Compile O&M manuals and ASIB documentation.
- Client Interaction: Maintain close liaison with consultants and customers to ensure project alignment.
- General Duties: Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Education:
- Relevant qualification or certification in drafting or mechanical engineering.
- A.S.I.B. certification (advantageous).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a draughtsman, preferably in fire protection systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Revit software is highly advantageous.
- Ability to perform hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems.
- Other:
- Own reliable transport is required.
