An AI and Fleet telematics that assist with your day-to-day operations, forecasting, reporting & compliance are in the market for a Junior Data Engineer. The ideal candidate must have a strong analytical background to help drive value from the company’s data, with focus on building Python, ETL processes and writing superb SQL. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining and building out the reporting DB.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the development team, data analysts and BI analysts to help build and maintain data flows that supports the reporting requirements.
- Model front-end and back-end data sources to help draw a more comprehensive picture of user flows throughout the system and to enable powerful data analysis.
- Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data.
- Develop models that can be used to make predictions and answer questions.
- Work with data to solve business problems, building and maintaining the infrastructure.
- Help streamline data science and analytics workflows by improving data delivery and quality to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related analytical discipline required.
- Familiarity with common python based ETL tools such as PySpark or Apache Airflow.

The Reference Number for this position is NG59870 which is a Permanent Hybrid position based in Centurion offering a salary of R330,000 to R430,000 cost to company per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
