ENVIRONMENT:
A Software Company with a focus on digital transformation is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect – Sales Enablement to join its Sales and Marketing team. This role is pivotal in crafting client-focused solution proposals, preparing detailed costing documents, and developing bill of quantities for turnkey solutions. By aligning the company’s offerings with client operational needs, the Solutions Architect ensures measurable value, competitive pricing, and clearly defined project scopes. The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical expertise, business acumen, project management skills, and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. They will excel at translating complex solutions into client-friendly documentation and presentations while maintaining both a big-picture perspective and meticulous attention to detail. Acting as a key collaborator within cross-functional teams, this role empowers the Sales and Marketing team to deliver comprehensive, value-driven solutions and provides essential support to the Department Head in advancing strategic initiatives.
 
DUTIES:
  • Proposal Development: Create detailed, visually engaging solution proposals that highlight the value, functionality, and ROI of the company’s offerings, with a focus on government solution verticals.
  • Costing and Budgeting: Collaborate with internal teams to compile and verify solution costs, including hardware, software, licensing, and support services, ensuring accuracy and alignment with objectives.
  • Bill of Quantities (BoQ): Develop and maintain accurate BoQ documents, outlining resources, quantities, and costs comprehensively.
  • Solution Presentation: Work with the Sales team to tailor solution presentations to client needs, clearly addressing operational challenges.
  • Solution Demonstration: Coordinate with technical teams to set up and conduct system demonstrations for partners and clients.
  • Technical Insight and Big-Picture Thinking: Maintain a strong technical understanding of products, articulating their impact on operations, revenue assurance, and risk management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with project, technical, network engineering, finance, and sales teams to ensure proposals are technically accurate, financially viable, and strategically aligned.
  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and client needs to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Client Communication: Simplify complex technical details into client-friendly, actionable insights in documents and presentations.
  • Reporting: Support the Department Head in preparing reports and metrics related to solution proposals, costs, and client requests.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in solution proposal development, costing, and client-facing documentation, preferably in the technology sector.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of software-hardware integration, ICT software development lifecycle, and related costing practices.
  • Skills: Exceptional writing and presentation abilities, attention to detail, and strategic thinking aligned with client needs.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tools: Proficiency in presentation and financial modeling tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel within Africa.
