Senior Algorithmic Trading C++ Developer

A leading investment bank in South Africa is seeking an algorithmic trading developer to design, develop, and enhance cutting-edge platforms. These platforms are supported by market analytics, execution strategies, pricing models, and risk management tools aimed at improving strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance platforms for market analytics, execution strategies, and pricing models.
• Provide analytical support and insights to address business opportunities and challenges.
• Collaborate with traders to refine trading strategies and innovate within the global markets trading space.
• Identify opportunities to improve trading methods, automate processes, and reduce risk.
• Build professional relationships with stakeholders and adapt communication styles to diverse audiences.

Requirements

• Eight to twelve years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in C++ development within Linux, Windows, or Solaris environments.
• Expertise in STL, Boost, multi-threaded programming, and XML processing.
• Knowledge of algorithmic trading and trading strategies.
• A degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of software quality engineering and testing experience, including defect tracking.
