SQL Database Administrator
Job Description
Hire Resolves client is seeking a SQL Database Administrator , you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting our database environments. Your expertise in SQL and database architecture will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our database systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise, implement solutions, and resolve any issues related to database performance and integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL databases for maximum efficiency and reliability.
- Manage and oversee the integration and reporting services (particularly if MS-SQL) to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
- Implement and manage database architecture solutions, ensuring that they meet business requirements.
- Develop and write complex T-SQL or PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and provide solutions for database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and improved system performance.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support the database infrastructure and application needs.
- Ensure the security, backup, and recovery of database systems, and provide support for disaster recovery planning.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in database technologies and best practices.
- Participate in ongoing optimization and automation initiatives to improve database processes.
Key Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience in SQL Database Administration.
- Strong experience with MS-SQL and/or Oracle, including detailed knowledge of Integration and Reporting Services (for MS-SQL).
- In-depth understanding of database architecture and its relevant technologies.
- Strong T-SQL or PL/SQL abilities, with experience in writing and optimizing complex queries.
- Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems, ensuring high availability and reliability of database systems.
- Vendor certification in Database Administration (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux (if Oracle databases are involved).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on results and continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
- Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization tools.
- Knowledge of database security practices, including encryption, authentication, and access controls.
