Junior Social Coordinator and Content Creator

Location: Cape Town

Job summary:

You’ll work with our marketing team and social media manager to create content that truly connects with our audience. From crafting engaging posts to staying on top of digital trends, you’ll play a key role in building our social community, managing conversations, and bringing the right vibe across all platforms. Key responsibilities:

Content creation:

  • Work with the head of digital to develop content ideas for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and more
  • Manage pre-production tasks, including site recces and gear requirements, and assist with editing as needed
  • Write engaging captions for short and long-form content across social channels
  • Coordinate creative assets, complete price checks, and ensure campaigns launch on schedule
  • Support on content shoots and shoot short-form reels independently when required

Social media management:

  • Schedule and post content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter (X) in line with brand campaigns
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule, with emphasis on UGC-led campaigns and Facebook feed

Community engagement:

  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions across all platforms, escalating client queries when necessary
  • Engage with comments on organic and paid campaigns, including on platforms like Google Business, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter

Campaign support:

  • Assist with the execution of brand campaigns, competitions, and collaborations
  • Coordinate communication with winners and manage prize distributions
  • Lead monthly lead-generation campaigns with scheduled prize offerings

Trend analysis:

  • Stay updated on emerging trends, platform updates, and social media best practices
  • Prepare monthly trend reports for the head of digital, including campaign inspiration

Collaborative work:

  • Collaborate closely with marketing, design, and content teams to ensure social media aligns with broader marketing goals

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Minimum one year of experience in social media management and content creation
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for crafting captivating captions
  • Basic video editing and graphic design skills
  • Analytical mindset with data interpretation skills to generate insights
  • Highly creative, detail-oriented, organised, and proactive

Advantageous skills:

  • Experience with influencer partnerships or brand collaborations
  • A passion for photography
  • Social media experience in a retail setting
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
  • Experience with Da Vinci Resolve and scheduling platforms such as Sprout Social

Additional job information:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
  • Based at Roeland Square, Gardens (non-remote)
