Production Planner
Job Description
PRODUCTION PLANNER
Reporting to the Customer Services Team Leader, the successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of production and inventory management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- SAP experience is advantageous.
- Solid mathematics background (Matric level).
- 3–5 years of experience in planning or buying within manufacturing or retail.
- Proven track record in manufacturing admin with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and issue weekly production schedules based on demand.
- Maintain adequate finished goods stock levels and manage reorder levels to ensure order fulfillment.
- Monitor and manage slow and dead stock within defined parameters.
- Coordinate intercompany sales and purchasing to ensure smooth flow of materials.
- Communicate raw material requirements for new or modified products.
- Liaise with Stores & Distribution teams to enhance service efficiencies.
- Place orders with suppliers and adjust stock levels as necessary.
- Advise on machine capacity requirements for future production needs.
- Assist with the long-term planning of production capacity and utilization budgets.
