Job Description


Purpose of the Role

The Functional Head of Employee Experience is responsible for creating and delivering a positive, seamless, and engaging employee experience across the business for all countries. This role leads a small team and oversees the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to exits, ensuring employees feel supported, valued, and motivated. The position plays a key role in driving employee retention and engagement while aligning with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire onboarding and offboarding process for both HQ and store employees across all countries, ensuring a professional, engaging, and consistent experience.
  • Manage the issuing and administration of uniforms and employee benefits, ensuring efficiency, fairness, and compliance.
  • Design, arrange and implement initiatives to build connection, motivation, and pride among employees, driving engagement at every stage of the employee lifecycle.
  • Manage the employee engagement channels and assist employees with queries.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee retention and support medium to long-term career growth.
  • Track and report on key employee experience metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR, Employee Engagement, or Employee Experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Experience working across diverse employee groups (HQ and frontline/store-based).
  • Experience in Employee Engagement or Employee Experience in multiple African countries is advantageous.
