Junior Finance Manager

A leading construction company is looking for a Junior Finance Manager (CA) to join their finance team. The successful candidate will support day-to-day financial operations, management accounts, budgeting, and project costing, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified CA(SA) or someone with up to 2 years post-articles experience to grow their career in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.

• Monitor project costing, job cards, and track profitability per project.

• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.

• Perform reconciliations (bank, supplier, customer, inter-company).

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, SARS (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax), and other statutory requirements.

• Support internal and external audit processes.

• Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee depreciation calculations.

• Assist in the preparation of cash flow projections.

• Provide financial analysis and reports to support decision-making.

• Collaborate with site managers and quantity surveyors to ensure financial accuracy on projects.

• Implement and maintain internal controls in line with company policies.

• Perform ad-hoc financial projects and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

• CA(SA) designation (registered with SAICA).

• Recently qualified or up to 2 years post-articles experience.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail with accurate financial reporting.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn.

• Strong time management and ability to work under pressure.
