About the Role

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you bring engineering insight and practical experience to help clients find the right technical solutions. Your hands-on factory floor experience, recognised trade qualification, and Electrical Engineering Diploma equip you to offer precise, informed advice and maintain strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical sales support via phone and email, offering part-selection guidance grounded in practical engineering knowledge.

  • Prepare and dispatch accurate technical quotations within tight timeframes and process orders on the same day.

  • Acknowledge all incoming orders and ensure proper routing to internal teams.

  • Assist in technical aspects of product research, promotions, and new product launches.

  • Stay up to date with product knowledge and support marketing initiatives.

  • Monitor deliveries, follow up with customers, and ensure satisfaction through the order lifecycle.

  • Generate weekly sales performance reports, focusing on client types, repeat business, and conversion rates.

  • Work closely with internal teams on stock control, order tracking, and financial aspects of quotes and orders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Factory floor experience with practical problem-solving exposure.

  • Recognised trade qualification.

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

  • Proven experience in technical sales (internal or external).

  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to manage high volumes of technical enquiries and quotations under pressure.

  • Solid computer literacy and knowledge of sales and engineering processes.

  • Self-driven, professional, and results-oriented.

Hoofverantwoordelikhede

  • Bied tegniese verkoopsbystand via telefoon en e-pos, met onderdele-keuse-gegronde advies.

  • Stel akkurate tegniese kwotasies op en stuur binne baie kort terme en verwerk bestellings dieselfde dag.

  • Erken alle inkomende bestellings en stuur korrek na interne spanne.

  • Ondersteun produknavorsing, tegniese promosies en nuwe produkbekendstellings.

  • Bly op hoogte van produkkennis en ondersteun bemarkingsinisiatiewe.

  • Volg aflewerings na, doen opvolg, en verseker kliëntetevredenheid tydens die bestellingproses.

  • Stel weeklikse verkoopsverslae op oor kliente tipes, herhalende besigheid en omskakelingskoerse.

  • Werk nou saam met interne spanne oor voorraadbeheer, opvolging van bestellings en finansiële bestuur van kwotasies en bestellings.

Minimum Vereistes

  • Fabriekvloerervaring met praktiese probleemoplossing.

  • ’n Erkende ambagskwalifikasie.

  • ’n Diploma in Elektriese Ingenieurswese.

  • Bewese ervaring in tegniese verkope (intern of ekstern).

  • Sterk kommunikasievaardighede met ’n kliëntgerigte, oplossingsgewelligde ingesteldheid.

  • Vermoë om groot volumes tegniese navrae en kwotasies onder druk te hanteer.

  • Goeie rekenaarvaardigheid en kennis van verkoops- en ingenieursprosesse.

  • Selfgedrewe, professioneel en resultaatgedrewe.
