Building Site Agent – Construction Industry
Job Description
RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established construction company in South Africa, is seeking an experienced Site Agent in Cape Town to lead and manage site operations from start to finish.
As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities on-site. You will manage teams, subcontractors, materials, budgets, timelines, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
- Interpret project drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Manage site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress reports to senior management.
- Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, deliveries, and inspection logs.
- Identify and resolve on-site problems or delays.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Building/BTech degree in Construction Management or similar
- Between 5 and 10 years’ experience in a Site Agent or similar supervisory role
- Proven track record managing construction projects from start to finish
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and construction software tools
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
