KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent  II, Mine Planning Engineer – Short Term (2 positions available)

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To produce short-term mine development plans and issue Mining Instructions and prepare a weekly and monthly mining schedule.

You will have the following:

• Must have a degree in Mining Engineering
• A master’s degree in Mine Planning and Optimization, will be an added advantage
• Must have at least 7 years’ proven experience as a Mine Planning Engineer
• Must have at least 7 years’ experience in short and medium planning
• Must have at least 5 years proven experience in using Deswik mine planning software
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Working knowledge of French will be considered highly advantageous.

• Competent in mine financial systems and related legislation
• Advanced Computer literacy for role – MS Office Software
• Policy development
• Financial modeling and evaluation
• Mining opex and capex models
• Mine Planning and Optimization

• Develop the Mine Planning Strategy and implement effective and efficient Mine Planning structures, policies, plans and governance structures
• Manage and oversee Contractors and service providers

• Function as a Mine Planning subject matter expert
• Stakeholder Management -Manage relationships with stakeholders to enable optimisation of the business value chain
