Events and Logistics Specialist
Job Description
Play a central role in coordinating events, travel and logistics that enable GIZ projects to deliver sustainable impact across Southern Africa. Based at our Country Office in Pretoria and reporting to the Head of Procurement and Contracting, these two 24-month opportunities offer the chance to work in a diverse and multicultural team where efficiency, compliance and innovation are key.

What You Will Be Doing
- Plan and manage events, workshops, conferences and visitor programmes in line with GIZ standards
- Coordinate travel bookings, visas and transport in line with GIZ policies and SAP Concur
- Manage logistics including shipments, imports, vehicle registration, insurance and records management
- Support procurement of materials, equipment and service contracts through compliant tender processes
- Contribute to digital transformation, process improvement, training and risk management within the unit
Required Qualifications, Competencies and Experiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce in Purchasing, Supply, Logistics or Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
- Honours or Master of Business Administration
- MCIPS/ CIPS Accreditation
Professional Experience
- At least 5 to 8 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
- Excellent working knowledge of Procurement principles and fundamentals
- Experience with an international donor agency
Other Knowledge, Additional Competences
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ICT tools and ERP systems
- Knowledge of National and/or EU Procurement laws
- Excellent command of the English language, knowledge of German is an added advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service and solution orientation
- Outstanding interpersonal/ people skills, natural team player and collaborator
- Trained negotiator and effective conflict manager
- Harnesses the benefits of diversity and inclusion principles
