Job Description
KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Senior Officer, SCF Furnace Technical
The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

- To maintain the SCF furnace body by monitoring and managing expansion
- To coordinate timely SCF proper process equipment inspection and maintenance.
- To optimize furnace operation and avoid abnormal operation conditions and events that may lead to emergencies
- To lead and coordinate all process related breakdowns and anchor on site continuous practical training of SCF staff
You will have the following:
- Must have a diploma/ degree in in metallurgy or chemical engineering
- Must have at least 6 years working experience in smelting, preferably copper
- Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Working knowledge of French will be considered highly advantageous.

- Advanced Proficient in smelter process management, with the ability to deal with production emergencies

- HSEQ: Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
