Professional Civil Engineer– Consulting Industry
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a leading engineering team in Johannesburg. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled professional to take on a senior technical and leadership role in the planning, design, and delivery of major civil infrastructure projects.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 15+ years’ experience in design, site supervision, and contract documentation across civil engineering projects.
- Professional Registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA.
- At least 3 years’ experience in managing Expanded Public Works type projects.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design.
- Strong technical knowledge in roads, sewerage, water, and stormwater systems.
- Advanced civil design capability, especially in complex projects
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects as a Senior Design Engineer.
- Manage project inception, costing, and feasibility studies.
- Compile and review technical and project reports.
- Oversee project staff in draughting, design, and detailing.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Review and sign off project designs and drawings.
- Prepare budgets and manage project finances.
- Draft contract documentation, technical specifications, and monitor construction contracts.
- Drive client engagement, tendering, and business development initiatives.
- Mentor, coach, and develop technicians, technologists, and engineers.
- Assist with staff resource management and training within the division.
