Job Description


A reputable aviation company is looking for an experienced Responsible Person Aircraft (RPA) with extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance, compliance, and quality management to join their team in Lanseria, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a proven track record in maintaining airworthy aircraft while ensuring adherence to aviation regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all maintenance and inspection personnel and sign Part D of operations specifications.

  • Ensure aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition following manufacturer-approved procedures.

  • Monitor compliance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and regulations.

  • Ensure maintenance technicians are trained, certified, and supervised per regulatory requirements.

  • Produce and update the policy and procedures manual.

  • Coordinate with maintenance contractors for company aircraft.

  • Provide the operations manager with current airworthiness status and maintenance scheduling forecasts.

  • Maintain liaison with manufacturers, parts suppliers, repair facilities, and the civil aviation authority.

  • Ensure availability of all necessary technical manuals and data to maintenance personnel.

  • Maintain work records, logbooks, certification, and mass and balance records for all aircraft.

  • Complete and submit required reports to the operations manager for forwarding to the regulatory authority.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 minimum qualification.

  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence under Part 66.

  • Engineering degree in aeronautics, electrical, mechanical, avionics, or relevant field with 5 years aviation experience preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years in an executive or Quality Manager role within aviation.

  • At least 1 year of direct experience with SACAA compliance audits.

  • No history of suspended or cancelled aviation approvals in the last 5 years.

  • Experience with aircraft tracking systems such as CAMP, AvDex, Traxxall, Textron, My Pilatus Centre, Honeywell, and Pratt & Whitney.

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments with dedication and commitment.
